As a consulting program manager,B&D serves more in an advisory or consulting role. We are brought in at key intervals to assist with specific issues as they arise, generally working on a "time and material" basis. While we serve in this capacity, our clients know they have a pool of experts on call throughout the design and construction phase of their projects. We might get called upon to develop the FF&E; to develop, refine, or confirm the facility program; to review the design for constructability or value engineering; or to walk the construction site for specific non-program compliance issues. Typically, we are brought in to complete the following tasks:

  • FF&E Coordination
  • Develop/Refine Facility Program
  • Value Engineering
  • Walk the Construction Site to Determine Specific Non-Program Compliance Issues
  • Design Review

Recognizing that one size does not fit all, we have developed two broader program management approaches:

"Planning and designing an entirely new campus for an institution over 200 years old on the site of a former dairy farm demanded the diverse talents of several different firms, among them some of the most distinguished architects and planners in the country. B&D led our process, orchestrated the interactions of this team, and ensured that we developed a plan we could implement -- on our schedule, within our budget, and at the quality that reflects our values."
