Fitness Center Preliminary Assessment and Programming Support
Washington, DC
Brailsford & Dunlavey was retained by the Georgetown University Law Center in November 2000 to provide programming support services and assist in the development of its fitness center project concept. B&D provided the Law Center with recommendations regarding the fitness center program, including: the number of visitors per day the facility would accommodate; the breakdown of sports activities; and the development of an outline program; a preliminary staffing plan; and a preliminary income statement.
B&D's scope included a review of background materials, meetings with University administrators and Fitness Center staff, a tour of campus and recreation facilities, development of an outline program for the 60,000 square foot facility, target building efficiency projection, patron capacity analysis, preliminary FF&E schedule and budget, development budget assessment, and a preliminary income statement and debt capacity analysis.
Construction of the Ginsburg Sport and Fitness Center was completed in 2004. And in 2005 it was honored with Athletic Business's "Facility of Merit" award.
