February 2001, Brailsford & Dunlavey, in
association with the architectural firm of
Hughes Group Architects, was retained by Anne
Arundel County as part of the East Park Master

financial analysis for a proposed aquatic
center.
B&D's specific responsibilities included:
- A detailed demographic analysis
- A review of existing community/regional aquatic and recreational facilities
- An assessment of community demand through a series of focus groups
- A detailed written survey
- A detailed financial model to project the building's anticipated performance over a 30-year period
In September 2006, the $12 million North Arundel Aquatic Center opened; the 26,000 square foot facility includes a competition pool, leisure pool, spa, sun deck, and locker rooms. And in June 2008, the project received an Architectural Showcase award from Athletic Business Magazine.
