History

Brailsford & Dunlavey was first established as Brailsford Associates, Inc. in 1993 to provide integrated economic and architectural planning services and program management in the development of sports and recreation facilities. In 1996, the firm's name was changed to Brailsford & Dunlavey. At its outset, the practice consisted of only three consultants serving five clients, focusing on pre-development feasibility studies and project management services.

The First Five

As the company grew, its areas of specialization grew to include student housing, faculty/staff housing, campus recreation and athletics, student unions, faculty clubs, campus edge developments, ballparks, stadiums, arenas, community recreation facilities, and convocation and convention centers. In recent years, the firm has been solicited increasingly to assume program management responsibilities for projects nationwide.

Today, having completed more than 500 assignments, B&D employs more than 40 professionals and has managed or consulted on student housing, recreation centers, campus centers, professional sports facilities, and other "quality of life" facilities worth over $10 billion dollars in completed construction value.

B&D produced a financing and implementation plan
that helped DePaul University construct the Ray Meyer Fitness Center.
DePaul was B&D's first client.
