Community Outreach

As catalysts for building community, Brailsford & Dunlavey's work is not limited to the clients we serve. We also are active in our community, promoting charitable causes and striving to strengthen the neighborhoods in which we live. These causes recently have included Stokes Public Charter School, Central Union Mission, the Open Door women's shelter, the Help the Homeless Walkathon, the Building Hope Charter School Foundation, and Georgetown University Hospital, among many others.

It is our sincere belief that a community is only as strong as the people who live in it and the organizations that support it. Along with many other dedicated individuals and corporations, we endeavor to address the needs of our community. And as a result, we are better able to understand the needs of your community.

19 B&D staff members joined XM Radio, KaBOOM!, Stokes Charter School staff, and members of the community to construct a new playground for Stokes students on August 7, 2008.         _____________________________________________________________________________________ "I cannot thank B&D enough for all of your help yesterday for the KaBOOM! build. . . . WOW!!! Your spirit and energy was so needed and much appreciated." -- Ms. Jo-Anne Hurlston, Program Manager, Elsie Whitlow Stokes Community Freedom Public Charter School

"Not only did we finish the Nationals Ballpark on budget and within the aggressive schedule of 22 months, but we also achieved the first green stadium, reaching LEED Silver certification; record economic inclusion of more than 50% local, small and disadvantaged businesses; a new model for compliance with the Americans with Disabilities Act; and a building that is at once at the forefront of baseball stadium design and a fitting addition to the architectural environment of the District. From the early planning through Opening Day, B&D kept our team organized and pushed the envelope for us on all of these key issues."
